You really have to wonder about those Tech fans...

Postby PK » Sun Jan 03, 2010 11:47 pm

Letter in the DMN from a guy who felt sorry for Leach and his famiily and thought that Adam Jones should go to a lower division school where he would have a better chance to play. :?
SMU's first president, Robert S. Hyer, selected Harvard Crimson and Yale Blue as SMU's colors to symbolize SMU's high academic standards. We are one of the few Universities to have school colors with real meaning...and we just blow them off.

Apparently the DMN printed this morning that he is transferring to SMU... Did I miss something after CJ quashed that rumor?

Dear Lord. Prior to seeing that, I was merely hoping that we'd beat them next year. Now I hope that we beat them by 70 points, they don't win another game for 5 years, and wind up disbanding their football program.

funny thing is, this whole thing is sooooooo not about SMU. But, since Tech has made it about SMU, I hope we rise up out there in Lubbock and finally beat em

They are using the SMU association from 25 yrs ago - weak, weak. I really think these idiots would harm his family or his house.

I thought the TT thing was supposed to stop. It will go on for a while. TT fans made SMU part of it. My question is, will SMU bring some fans, can SMU beat TT at TT? I really hope so, you will need to be together like never before on this one. I hope you folks make the drive because I honestly think you may need each others back. Parking lots etc.

I know it's a strong word, but I really hate Mike Leach, and thus hated TT because he was their coach. As soon as he was fired, my hatred toward TT was easing. I actually wanted them to win the Alamo Bowl because I thought their players could really use the win to help them to start putting this behind them.

But after seeing how their fans have reacted, and hearing them boo Adam James at the game, and seeing them hold up signs that ridiculed AJ or CJ, I am officially done with them for good. I pray to the God of everything that is holy that their football program never recovers.

And just to be clear, some of those signs at the game were held up by people that should know better. They weren't all college students. Some of them were old enough to not only to be AJ's parents, but old enough to be my parents! Shameful.

I'm loving the cricket chirps coming out from the players who don't have a thing to say in support of Leach's actions in this matter.

having just moved from Lubbock...I thought it would be fun to call some of the people back there to see how it was going. They said that everyone is up in arms and the police have been outside of the chancellors house ever since the firing....Alot of them want the whole board of regents fired.

One wonders if things will change by next fall. TTU will name a new HC. The new HC does the normal PR stuff as well as additional PR since ther is such a hostile enviroment at TTU over this firing. Recruiting and Spring ball will have finished. There will be excitment over the new season and all. Will this firing have less sting next fall?
