TCU v. Boise State

The toads were totally intimidated tonight with the entire event and it showed at the beginning of the game, and then at the end. They had not played in a crowd like that indoor, probably ever. I kind of felt sorry for them...no I didn't.

Bottom line is the better team won. The TCU LB had been talking trash saying that they would have their way with the Boise State QB and they lost.

What happened to TCU's pass rush 0 sacks. And their O-line got handled they only had like 40 rushing yards

Takeaway so far:

SMU has a good chance to beat TCU next year. BSU just missed a long pass that would have been a TD...Padron would have hit that man in stride for a TD.

Might be a tad optimistic for next year. Did you notice TCU only loses a couple of seniors? Almost the entire starting units come back albeit a huge loss with Hughes graduating................

Takeaway so far:

SMU has a good chance to beat TCU next year. BSU just missed a long pass that would have been a TD...Padron would have hit that man in stride for a TD.

I've been told that they have 17 starters coming back next year...I assume that includes all those butterfinger WRs. Haven't seen so many dropped passes since some of our early games this last year.

What do you expect him to say..."we suck." Boise's defense played a good game, but the bottom line is that TCU's offense just flat sucked in that game with dropped passes and bad throws. TCU's defense, however, was pretty good in holding Boise to only 10 points (the other 7 came from the pick 6...in case anyone has forgotton).

What do you expect him to say..."we suck." Actually Boise didn't have that much to do with it. TCU's offense just flat sucked in that game. Their defense was pretty good in holding Boise to only 10 points (the other 7 came from the pick 6...in case anyone has forgotton).

TCU scored 40 + points per game and averaged over 400 yards per game. Their 4 star Kerley that torched us regularly gave them good field position all season long. We heard much ado about TCU's D, and how TCU was in fact a top 10 offense. TCU's D showed up, as expected. Looks like to me Boise did an excellent job of game planning vs TCU's 'o'. Granted, dropped passes were an issue, but TCU was deep in Boise territory twice in the last 5 minutes and came up with zero. Either Boise did an excellent job of keeping TCU out of the endzone, or yes, TCU 'sucked' when it counted most by shooting itself in the foot.

First, I swore I was not going to watch the game. Then, I ended up watching most of it. I was led to believe by my friends and family in Ft. Worth that TCU had sold all kinds of tickets and that they were going to be there in force. If so, where were they? I saw one shot of an endzone that made it look like a fairly even crowd. Other than that, I mostly saw a sea of orange and blue. Sure there were groups of TCU fans there to be shown for crowd reaction shots, but that was clearly a home crowd for BSU and the fans and players knew it.

Time for TCU to admit its support is soft. Like my brother, his wife (former TCU employee) and three kids; they go to a lot of TCU games, but they are not about to travel to a TCU road game, let alone a bowl game. TCU is one losing season away from a 10%-25% decline in attendance.

The Jewel Charity Ball this weekend in Fort Worth will be a little more entertaining for me this Saturday. Time to dust off the Mustang cuff links.

Boise did a good job of shutting down TCU's rushing game, but that last dropped pass in the endzone towards the end of the game pretty well summed it up...TCU's offense was horrid last night.

Maybe, but what about the "Poor TCU and their giant stadium they can't fill and the only reason Boise looks like it has better community support is it has a smaller stadium and sells out every game" argument?

The only thing successfully validated by TCU last night is that their women are better looking than Boise women. Fortunately or unfortunately, that wasn't that hard to do.

To be clear, TCU is way ahead of SMU and that is where SMU wants to be, but the TCU belief that their [deleted] doesn't stink was shown last night to be untrue. TCU needs to admit it has taken a lot of luck to get where they are today.

TCU sold way more seats than SMU sold for their last home game for their first bowl in 25 years. Seriously you are going to take a shot at TCU for their crowd-a sellout between two non-BCS schools? SMU couldn't even sellout the Cotton Bowl the last time we went.

I am a Fort Worth kid and would live there today if not for my present job. I know lots of people in that town and I have lots of TCU discussions. I don't think you understand what I was PROMISED! I was promised a majority TCU crowd that was going to rock the Fiesta Bowl. I was told I was going to see the true wealth of support that TCU has. I was told about all these rich Fort Worth UT alums that were going to the Fiesta Bowl on Monday, coming home for a day and/or going straight to the national championship on Thursday. 100s of those, I was promised. This wasn't from blowhard internet 20-somthings; this was from the serious people at TCU.

Oh, and I was promised the game would not be competitive.

I guess they were wrong on all counts.
