I know this stuff is meaningless but its fun. Here are some of the notables:
WAC teams in:
#11 Nevada
#12 Fresno (seed rising)
SMU opponents in:
#1 Wake
#5 Texas Tech (seed rising)
#5 Purdue
I cant believe they left Okie St out.

While it is interesting, it's tough to swallow that we beat two projected #5 seeds, and barely lost to a #1 seed, and we will probably not be going to the tournament again (or the NIT for that matter).
Here's hoping we change these prognostications.

If our talent is good enough and can be coached/motivated enough to hang with or beat better talent ie TT,Purdue, and Wake, why can't we play better against teams that we should beat? The mark of a well coached team is when they win at home and beat who they should beat on the road.

Fire Quin Snyder and Bill Self. They both lost to teams of much lesser talent.

surely Bobby Knight and Gene Keady should be fired for losing to Dement. WAZ your comment is patently ridiculous. Get over it we have HUGE weeknesses on this team. No. 1 -we have ZERO polished offensive players; No. 2- we have ZERO quality bigmen who can play with both athleticism and strength. Those are the type of problems that make a team-well-inconsistent. One Nite they beat Purdue and Tech-the next Nite they literrally can't hit the side of a Barn. There are offensive defects in every single one of our player's games. Few were even -what you would call outstanding offensively-in High school. This is not to take away anything from guys like Simpson, Isham, Hopkins who have outstanding athletic talent-just to point out their games are flawed.

I echo that. Pearson has a great deal of athleticism but his shot is awkward. If Isham misses a shot, he won't shoot for three games after that. Rack is tall, but is easily bounced around inside. Castro is tough, but not tall and is a streak shooter. Lowe, Voc are both streak shooters. BHop is a point guard he's supposed to create opporunities for everyone else. I agree, this team is young and raw. None of us expected this team to go dancing this year and only when we beat a couple of top 30 teams did we get excited. Also playing Fresno and Nevada on the road is tough. We lost to Fresno by 1. We need to focus on the rest of the conference, beat Fresno at home and hope to pull an upset of Nevada at home.
UNC better keep that Ram away from Peruna

Wow, a little sensitive aren't we? I do believe I said beat teams at home, and beat who you should beat on the road. I doubt we 'should' have beaten either of the teams last week. It would have been nice, but a pretty big suprise if it happened. Brings me back to Purdue, Wake, and TT. We obviously mounted up enough talent in those three games to be competitive against clearly better talent. Was that a fluke? You can't have it both ways. We beat Tulsa at home, which we should have this year. With the exception of the two fluffs, we have beaten who we should have and snatched two that we shouldn't have. Pretty close to being a good team, by my earlier definition.

Waz- You clearly intimated that we should have beaten the last 2 teams. "If we can beat Purdue and TT, why can't we beat teams we should beat" is an obvious slap at coaching when you say that and then say the mark of the well coached team is to beat who they should on the road. If not, what was the point of your post?
