Trust June Jones

Postby AusTxPony » Wed Jan 06, 2010 2:14 pm

I, for one, am going to trust what JJ says this coming September. This year he said the Defense will be better...was he right! We will miss Kenemer, Dennis and Hudman next year though. Wow, Kenemer was a wild man in the Bowl game. They are "flying" around the field now unlike the D of old.
He said we would win at least 6 games, he was right plus a couple due a lot to Padron and McNeal playing so well and the receivers making great catches. Sad to see Sanders go, though.
He said we would go to a Bowl in Hawaii, he was right and we whomped 'em to boot. I think that was the best game I've seen SMU play since you know when.
In JJ I trust.

Sanders is a big loss. That guy made one huge catch after another this season. If Aldrick plays next season like he did in the bowl game, then we'll be fine. If not, then we are going to have to find another money man to make the big catches at crunch time.

Selfishly, I'd really like to see Shawnbrey come back for his senior season. I totally understand if he feels otherwise though. If he goes, we'll have a big hole to fill. He really added another dimension to our offense this season.

JJ has not said anything regarding the coming year. Last year he said the goal was 6 wins not that he was predicting 6 wins.We also lost Chris Parham as well on D.

He has said in informal discussions and interviews that we need to compete for the conference championship this year and hopefully we'll be in a BCS bowl in 'a few years'. But, yeah, nothing about specific personnel goals. I imagine we'll hear some of that on signing day...coming soon!
