God forgive me for being a bit critical of Colt, but all we hear is what a great guy and great leader he is. However, I am saying now, that if he isnt on the sideline of this game, cheering his team on, I will think less of him. It is a horrible end to his career, but unless they are taking him to the hospital, he needs to be there.

I'm pretty sure the guy does whatever the trainers tell him to do.

From my understanding he is getting treatment so that he can try to comeback in the game.

If this team ends up like it looks now, it falls on Mack Brown and his staff. They blew out a bunch of teams and left McCoy in to pad his stats in a player-is-bigger-than-the-team effort to get McCoy the Heisman. So when Gilbert is needed, in the biggest game of the year, he couldn't possibly be ready. Talented kid, I'm sure he works hard, etc., but they had chances to prepare him more.
They beat Louisiana-Monroe by 39. They beat Wyoming by 31. Beat UTEP by 54. Beat Colorado by 24. Beat Mizzou by 34. Beat Okie State by 27. Beat UCF by 32. Beat Baylor by 33. Beat Kansas by 31.
If this Gilbert kid is the future, he should have had a hell of a lot more snaps before tonight than he did.

I don't disagree with the logic, but can you name a single team who does that?

Not off the top of my head, but it seems that a lot of top QBs get to watch the last few minutes of blowouts, as long as they don't have a Texas-like hype machine behind them, pushing for individual awards.

Well, he did have 29 attempts on the season. That's a full game for some teams.

It would help if the receivers could catch. He's thrown a few decent balls that have been dropped and #9 Williams looks like Featherstone from Necessary Roughness. He catches that ball in the end zone and it's a different game.
It would also help if the OC would call something other than a shotgun handoff on 1st down.
Here's to those that wish us well and all the rest can go to hell!!!

Nice reference! Well played! Oh god — Musberger sounds like a UT cheerleader. I really expected him to applaud after the onside kick.

That's 4 teams. I asked for a single team.

McCoy said his arm doesn't hurt, but he just can't feel his arm. I guess that's a little scary. But this "McCoy is a great QB" talk has been overblown for four years. I already like his replacement more than I like him.
