I would guess Patterson. It puts SMU on the other coaches' mind and maybe gets us some preseason votes. That makes our game with TCU worth more to TCU (having a stronger national recognized opponent).

If I had to guess, I would agree with you on Patterson.
To be clear, there are other voters, but I assume the vote came from someone in our conference or someone we played. I left A&M on there because I can imagine Rossley convincing the SID to give them the 25th vote.

Great recognition to be sure. Didn't we get into that category one year in the mid-1990s under Rossley when we started 2-0 or something like that?

Oklahoma should be in the top #25. No way OSU should be. Oklahoma shut out OSU and could have beat Central Michigan. What a joke.
