Is this a growing trend for big talent at big schools not getting playing time to downgrade? I've never really followed that.

pretty much happens to at least 50% of backups slotted below a QB who is the likely starter through the final year of the transferring QB

Happens quite frequently. A chance to start and not have to sit out a year is a big incentive to downgrade.

And Ryan Mallett announced he will be back at Arkansas. Although I though he needed another year, I thought Snead needed one more, more.

probably doesn't help that Pete Carroll is probably headed to the Seahawks to replace jim mora. could Leach end up in the PAC 10 at USC?
