Paid a year? I'm not saying that to make a "waste of money" argument...I am saying that, becuase I want to know if we could up the ante and actually attract a good coach...
Basketball is different than Football. In basketball, you can field a great team and still keep our same recruiting standards...What it comes down to is how much we are willing to pay a coach so that maybe we can attract a top, young coach...Does anyone know how much we pay the Dement?

there are EASILY more academic risks in BB than FB. Every team in the WAC except Rice is filled with academic risks. OU, TECH and OSU all have half a team full of academic risks.

Who cares - we are not Duke, we are not Vandy, we are not Rice, we are not Berkley, we are not Tulane. SMU is a decent education, not great - who cares if we have a few risks. I guarantee all those Gonzaga, Creighton, or Marquette kids don't have exceptional grades or don't get special treatment?
Dement - $300-400K is my guess.
