I liked the chemistry tonight. Good to see Nyakundi bounce back after a tough first half, Williams was solid as usual. Dia had a really nice game and Barbee filled in nice.

Glad to finally get a W after so many tough losses against "supposedly" much better conference opponents.

Bring on the B this Saturday! (Houston Baptist)

Chemistry is always better minus Faye. He's a talent, but he just doesn't make the team better
“When I first committed to SMU, I thought it would take a couple of years of building. But with these players coming in, we should make a run. We have a lot of heavy hitters. It could get real ugly for a lot of teams we play.”- Jalen Jones

I think Doherty just saved his job.
Everyone knows if you are a SMU coach you just have
to win the mayors cup or win at Autry.

Sweet ! Nice contributions from everyone.
I thought Game tracker was going to blow with all the subs going on during the game.

Memphis going down! The streak is over (course it will be over anyway when they lose their appeal and have to vacate all those wins)

Just got home and saw the final. Great for us. Really happy for the kids and I mean that. Awesome to see Dia have the season that he's having. Let's beat Houston Baptist. In looking at the tracker, it looked like we acted like we knew how to finish.

Congratulations SMU! :)

Very important part of the schedule coming up:

Home games with Houston Baptist, UCF, and Memphis. THen on the road at Southern Miss and Tulane, then back home against UTEP.

Houston Baptist is a W and the other 5 are games we should compete in. Would be nice to go at least 4-2 in this stretch and move on up those conference standings.

Maybe the team is coming together a bit and even though we lost the first 3 against tough opponents, we were right there. Now lets get over the hump and salvage the season.

Good to see them bounce back after that tough loss to UAB. We have been right there, just got to learn to win at the end.

McCoy came off the bench but still got too many minutes in my opinion, he is total non factor and I am not sure he is going to get it back. You can tell Doherty is trying everything to get the kid to get his head right again. At this point though, I would rather see Walker have his minutes drastically increased and see what he can do.

Quick observations: Need to work on fundamentals, especially passing. Would like to see some more offensive sets rather than lazy passes with no play or dumping it in to Dia once the shot clock is about to expire. That said Dia and Will looked great! Walker was solid. Nyakundi started off cold but was big in the last few minutes. Haynes was solid. McCoy was a non-factor lost total confiedence. Barbre is solid, but gets exposed with too many minutes, he is a great guy to come off the bench, but don't leave him in too long. Not a shot, just the truth. A good comparison would be a ph/platoon player in baseball getting 500+ ab's. Walker may get exposed with too many minutes as well. I think Nyakundi and Haynes should get more of McCoy's minutes, but maybe Nyakundi is still hurt as he doesn't stay in the game for long stretches. I think that McCoy's lack of production has really killed us as we need more Papa's, Will's, McCoy types (ala last year) to be really competitive. I have to say that I liked what I saw, but winning cures everything. Kazemi for Rice is really really good! Got many 3 point plays. Will post more tomorrow.
