Re: Bad Week For Rivals Headlines...It's not nearly as bad as it seems for the FB team. That just opened up 3 more scholarships that we needed opened up.

I know I know...tongue in cheek really... but ready for those commits to start up again!!
Re: Bad Week For Rivals Headlines...
Browsing the BB board seems like nothing will help the mens basketball team. I have never been a big basketball fan so can not comment on this. Sent from my KOREAN knockoff using Tapdance 5
Re: Bad Week For Rivals Headlines...Player leaves program
Thin at running back Several SMU offers commit elsewhere SMU receives a 2010 decommitment Except for McNeal leaving, this is not necessarily bad news. If Fields produces, we will get by without McNeal although it would have been nice to have both for a season. The most important queston is not who leaves but who fills their space.
Re: Bad Week For Rivals Headlines...As far as football recruiting goes, it is important to me to get a top defense and special teams to be a true power. June Jones offense is one that allows lesser players to get more and so I don't worry about that side of it as much.
For basketball recruiting, it is about the leader, like all college sports. You have got to have the right big time leader, coach that is, to get the men's BB team to a winning one. It will most likely take a lot of money. I read on this site that SMU's coach makes $546,229 a year. Wikipedia tells me that the head coach at Texas makes $2 million a year. Honestly, I'm ready for a men's basketball power too and for men's athletics (Track and Field) to return to SMU again.
