I can tell you right now some pretty high up people at SMU want him, but just as many don't. I think saying he isn't coming is far from over, Dancing in two years is pretty nice idea to many.

The chances of it happening are getting better and better each day. The real supporters of SMU sports want him bad, and the administration feel the same way. I understand some of the people on this board don't understand what he will acctually bring to the program(media hype, players, most importantly WINS) but its going to happen. Ponyscott, why would someone who has never posted on these boards all the sudden write about something that was false? Especially when SMU basketball is terrible at the moment. Why waste time on ponyfans.com posting false info. The only logical reason would be because they know of something you and 99% of the board dosen't know. I've seen that you have posted 1300 times and have not brought one bit of new information to this board except bash something you dont "think" is true or agree with someone that makes an obvious comment. I understand you are a die-hard pony and think you have seniority on here but unfortuanetly you have no real information that people want to hear. You don't have to be a fan of SMU basketball when it happens but something tells me you will be agreeing to the obvious this time next year.

Like I said you guys are dancing in two years. Only question I have is why am I hearing Houston is pretty close to firing Penders and Billy is their man. Either way he will win and win fast. Recall that utep turn around like it was yesterday, danced in the 2nd year and he was off to aTm making a team with zero conference wins a winner in year one, dancing in year two.

I dont make stuff up like you have and come on here with false info. There is no seniority with posts as its about content and to come on here and state such false gibberish is not a good way to earn the right as they say...and don't care to share what is known about BG on a public board or what I know from ex-players parents. Just check the police blotters first. Also refer to folks in the business like Ponydoh who know more than some of us. As far as Cougar High...good for them, and to compare SMU to UH is silly. Ponyscott, I dont think you are understanding my reply so I will dumb it down for you. Why in the world would someone come post false information about a team that is a bottom feeder in the conference? That has a record of 7-10 currently. That is literally the team other team's look forward to playing because its basically an automatic win at home or away, and if the opponent dosen't it is considered an upset. It would be more understanding and believable if they were middle of the pack year in and year out, and looking to move up. That is not the case for SMU basketball currently. Also, why would I need to refer to ponydoh? If he is in the business, then he already knows what is happening behind the scenes. I personally don't know who ponydoh is, so I will reserve my judgement on the information he acctually knows. The point is you may not think BCG is a good fit for the SMU basketball program, that's your own opinion and your entitled to it. But the actual people who's livelihood depend on making decisions on whether who is a good hire for the program/university think he is a good fit for the program. They understand he is a very successful coach, who know's how to recruit and WIN games. SEC coach of the year during the 2007-2008 season. He also was the consesus Big 12 coach of the year during the 2004-2005 season and the following season(2005-2006) was named to the same title by several publications. Its simple, he is the best coach SMU will ever have a chance at getting. SMU admin and boosters want to win and know that they have to go after the big fish or it will never happen. He is the best recruiter of the state(Texas) who on an annual basis produces more division 1 basketball players than any other state in the country. Like I said before, you don't have to like it, but it's going to happen. When it happens you will have the chance to boycott the university and not attend the games, write hate messages on ponyfans.com, say it was the biggest mistake ever made by the athletic administration, etc. That is all fine by me, I will be the new pony fan to step right into your place and support the team. I will also be the one to call you out and say I told you so come 3/14/10. I think I have proven my point to you as best as I can. You can now speculate for the next few months and post obvious/remedial comments on content that really wont matter come March. Half the team, if not more, will be replaced by better players and FINALLY SMU will start their rise to the top. I will also name the first signed recruit by BCG when it is a done deal come March. I wish I could do it now but it will have to wait for obvious reasons.

Let's be real, neither of you are SMU fans, boosters or in administration. You are Clyde backers w/an agenda. I get it, no worries. Also, I agree that he'd recruit and win, but at what cost? He's a derelict of the highest order.

OMG, if we hire Gillespie, our PG troubles are solved next year w/the addition of KC Ross-Miller. Oh yeah, admissions won't let him in. Damn. BCG should go to Houston, he can get Miller in there

Funny how you guys are the only one's not hearing how real this is. Can't go anywhere in Dallas and not hear someone talking about this. What is the price? Funny how I can't find anyone to say bad things about him when he was at Utep or aTm. Even Bill Self only has good things. Think he was a bad fit at UK, and they've gone out of their way to make him look bad. Great things in store, dancing in two years! College basketball returns to Dallas!
