Coaches made the right callCavan and his staff have taken a lot of heat this year, and usually it's been deserved. But they made the right call going with Page. Rice had some success with the option against Hawaii, and with two weeks to prepare, Cavan was right to try to have some similar success. And it looks like Page is more ready to run the offense, anyway. But Luker - who certainly has the stronger arm - doesn't have the wheels to run the option, and Page had some success with it. Keep it in the game plan, and keep Page under center.

We just think the team doesn't know how to win a game....actually the coaches don't know how. Clock management is crucial and they fail to get it right every game. Also having a 14 point lead at the half is not enough to try to go into an eat up the clock game.....you get the ball, you need to put points on the board. The players have shown what they can do when the offense is opened up, but the coaches keep going back to the old 3 and 4 yard (if we're lucky) plays. Enough already!!! SMU's first president, Robert S. Hyer, selected Harvard Crimson and Yale Blue as SMU's colors to symbolize SMU's high academic standards. We are one of the few Universities to have school colors with real meaning...and we just blow them off.
