Re-Commit instead of 24# really
Whew, that one had me worried...great re-commit for us. Slot position is ok for him and maybe they do a 'Wildcat' or call it a 'Stallion' QB spot situation
(Edited...sorry my bad as it is almost like a commit, just a re---)

This is huge. The thought of getting him on the field in a variety of ways is very exciting.
Back off Warchild seriously.

Re: Re-Commit instead of 24# really
he's so accurate as a passer-close to 70% he could kinda of transform the Wild Mustang scheme in ways other schools haven't. Can you see a Read Option Fade Back and hit a wide open receiver. It could put a lot of pressure on the CBs-although he looks nothing like Vince Young his Read Option play has been compared to Vince Young many times in East Texas. Of course for that play to really work we might need a TE/HB

And not to belabor a point, but so much for the tisd curse. Funny, we actually had a coach there say wed be blackballed, and we went and got arguably the two best players in the sistrict. Yet years later we can't overcome the same thing in bball w/ disd

Hence my reference to the district not the school. I'm well aware of what's what in tyler. I have a business maybe two blocks from rel.

Don't all post at once. Geez. I suppose Sorrell is #23, although he is not listed on either service. Go Mustangs!

Re: Re-Commit instead of 24# really
Johnson was already committed so Sorrell is the 23 actually.BRStang wrote:Wait, am I missing something? I see Gottschalk and Johnson. Who is #23?

According to a relative of Johnson's, he never really wanted to go elsewhere - just flattered by attention form other schools, wanted to take visits, etc.
Once a Mustang, ALWAYS a Mustang!

Do you have a source for that statement?

Let's see...Johnson is from Tyler...Casey is from Tyler. Casey says that "According to a relative of Johnson's...." My guess would be that Casey's source is the Johnson relative.SMU 86 wrote:That is not even close to the truth. SMU's first president, Robert S. Hyer, selected Harvard Crimson and Yale Blue as SMU's colors to symbolize SMU's high academic standards. We are one of the few Universities to have school colors with real meaning...and we just blow them off.
