Didn't Pittman play hurt at the end of the year?

actually that's one of the reasons I asked, because of that and how he played in the bowl game against nevada's line with a cast on, I think you guys would be excited about what he has the potential to become for SMU as he matures.

I think the staff is pleased and comfortable w/ Pittman's ability, and with O'Guin coming in, and Chase as a backup, maybe that's why we didnt see another Juco. I also wouldnt be surprised if Davis wasn't told to gain 20 lbs. and move more fully to NG. He's too much of a bulk player to be a LB in our D, IMO

I think Pittman is a very solid player, but like others have already mentioned, one of the pitfalls of most non BCS programs is depth. I think we are going to be creative in finding a solution, but it would be nice to have another usable body. The departure of Evan H. left a gap that O'Guinn will hopefully fill. I think we're gonna be OK.

Right now I'm on the outside looking in and still learning about some of the players. He is just one of the players that stick out to me but my questions pretty much get answered about the other ones without asking. I will tell you guys this, SMU is definitely in store for some great times and I am looking forward to seeing this program rise.

newerastang wrote:Just thought I'd ask, like I said I'm new just beginning to follow smu football and he is one of the DL's that stick out to me and I never hear him get credit for his play. Thought maybe he had attitude or work ethic problems. I understand the depth thing completely and look forward to the new recruits. And by the way you guys have a very good player in Taylor Reed. :D

no way Jagared Davis moves to the Defensive Line-he's got excellent speed and athleticism for LB. Now I could see Brandon Henderson eventually moving into the line-maybe-might be who you were thinking of. He was a DE in high school and has a bigger frame. Henderson is actually listed as a DT on the SMU roster but I'm pretty sure they later moved him to LB

I'm quite certain it was Aaron Davis, not JG, of whom I was thinking.

I saw Aaron Davis in at DL on the goal line against Marshall. He looked like a peewee footballer on the field. That is no reflection on his play or ability, and actually I think he did well on the play I noticed him. He just looked very, very undersized for the position. Hopefully another year will get a little more meat on him if that is how they intend to use him.
