So we're sitting at 26 in this class, with several offers still outstanding. Given that I'm hearing that 2 or 3 might not qualify, then we're looking at one, maybe 2, open spots. I'd love to see one of those OL or DL offers come through, and maybe another true DB. Sounds like there's some magic that needs to be worked by JJ and the staff, as well as some other things to happen, but I guess it's all still possible.
26 recruits? I believe we have 23, unless there are some new secret committments

Correct, Lifeson.

Based upon an Excel macro I developed, 23 current recruits + 3 greyshirts from last yeat that have enrolled = 26. This is soley based upon the assumption they the greyshirts HAVE to count against the 2010 class. I'm assuming there is some room in the 2009 class if they are in fact allowed to count against that class.

I was basing the 26 on them counting against the 2010 class.

so then you greyshirt until January 2011 one of the kids with an injury or a Linemen who needs to develop physically. We can still massage the numbers if we need to. Is there a year June Jones hasn't greyshirted at SMU or Hawaii-he's always greyshirted players

And that seems to get us back to my original question of what the staff's strategy would be and whether June had a past track record one way or another. It seems like the question is yes, take the greyshirt route for a couple and a couple probably won't qualify anyway.

Lastly, do we have a verdict on whether greyshirts can count retroactively to the 2009 class if there were still available spots?

. June definitely has a track record of greyshirting about 3 kids a year going back to Hawaii. Further, you really have to have their " NCAA scholarship limit report" for about the last 3 years to know. Its not something you can just figure out by running numbers because there is constant pushing back and pulling forward in these classes over several years. But it is a fact 7 expected players didn't show up for academic reasons but then again 3 unexpected scholarships had to be used for the dismissed players. So while possible its not likely we had much space in the 2009 class. Probably more likely we will push some forward as greyshirts

Thanks, Stallion. Clears up a number of questions I had.
