Re: Just an Observationwomen's basketball makes my eyes bleed, but I understand people enjoying a winner.
“When I first committed to SMU, I thought it would take a couple of years of building. But with these players coming in, we should make a run. We have a lot of heavy hitters. It could get real ugly for a lot of teams we play.â€- Jalen Jones
Re: Just an Observation
agree. every year i wish the lady mustangs luck in their season and hope they have continued success, and i am proud of their accomplishments, i just simply dont enjoy watching women's games- win or lose.
Re: Just an ObservationI don't think fans complain about womens Bball here. I think Rhonda runs an unappreciated program and think she is on the cusp of something really special in the next few years. If Wills was healthy we would see it this year. The recruits and transfers coming in are going to make it over the top for her.
And one other thing.....isn't she one of the best looking womens Bball coaches in the NCAA?
Re: Just an Observation
I believe based on her injury last year it has taken this long to actually get back to some form of consistency. If you look at the last 4 games her percentage has definitely picked up. I am really just waiting to see everyone be on the same page. The trend nowadays is to have 3 guards and 2 post and with the shooters we have in JB, Day, Racquel, BG, Sam and even the frosh Alisha we can do some damage if everyone is on the same page that day. I honestly believe that if we can get into the post season that we will do some damage. Right now the thing is to continue to play well and win today. Thanks for your kind words and let's go STANGS! "Failure is not an option"
Re: Just an ObservationThe women's team has a real coach; she could give doh some advice
Re: Just an ObservationTo those of you dissing the women's game ... I'll just say this: go to some games. It's true, they don't play above the rim, but they do the things that are meant to be done in the game: they can shoot. They pass. They defend. Is it as fast as it is in the men's game? No, but they do things right, and when they fall behind, they don't fold. They trailed UTEP and trailed Tulane last week — both good teams — and rallied to beat both. The women's team is very good (14-4), and getting better. As youngsters like Filmore and Mahnesmith and Brandenburg (who has looked really good in the last couple of games) get more playing time, this team is going to continue to get better.
I really shouldn't drink and type.
Re: Just an Observation
No, she is one of the best looking bball coaches in the NCAA. Sent from my KOREAN knockoff using Tapdance 5
Re: Just an Observation
Congratulations, you got almost exactly what you asked for. You and the 200 other people in the stands got to see a very competitive game against our new traditional rival.
Memphis?
Re: Just an Observation
Back off, she's married. In all seriousness, Rhonda is better looking at 50 than she was at 20. You wouldnt recognize her if you saw some of her college pictures.
Re: Just an Observation
She really looks good at her age, so I thought it was worth mentioning. She's cool. And we all know who she is married to.....don't we?
Re: Just an ObservationShe may turn out to be the bread winner of the family the way her husband's season is going. Tough times over there.
Re: Just an ObservationI normally have very little use for women's basketball, but I went to the ECU game on Saturday and must admit that the basketball was a lot better than the majority of men's games I've been to this season. As opposed to the men's painful stand around offense we've complained about all season along, the women are very crisp in their execution, both in early offense and their half court sets. It's amazing what a combination of good coaching and fairly high basketball IQs will produce. If the men could execute half as well as the women, then they'd have a few more wins under their belt.
