Announced attendance vs. UCF.

Shameful.

People need a reason to believe in your program. A 3-game winning streak is a step in the right direction but you need a track record.

When Moody is half full, it can be a tough place for the opposition to play. I love Moody for that reason because the stands are right on top of the court. Love the old-school feel to it.
It just needs to be updated.

To be honest I'm shocked there were that many. This program has given the fans no reason to be interested whatsoever. When that happens attendance will improve.

Excuses excuses. Being one of two revenues at major university should be reason enough to have better numbers. The product on the floor has been pretty darn competitive this year, other then the UNLV game. It's obviously improving as we're at our win total from a year ago w/11 plus games to play. Let's be real, and call it like it is. SMU, specifically the student body, are a bunch of frat daddy front-runners that just don't give a damn. People were so ready to hate this year, after a game or two, that it's no wonder nobody is coming. Honestly, I've never seen a collective fan base give up so early in the season. Pretty disgraceful. Glad the kids haven't quit
“When I first committed to SMU, I thought it would take a couple of years of building. But with these players coming in, we should make a run. We have a lot of heavy hitters. It could get real ugly for a lot of teams we play.”- Jalen Jones

Last night was surprisingly fun to watch. Most of them aren't. Maybe Doh is gonna let them play a bit more

OH, STOP IT!

Given that the win total was 10 two years ago and 9 the year before, what would you expect people to think? We got off to a thud of a start, played terrible against Hutson-Tillotson, went 0-3 in Hawaii and then lost at Texas St., -- a freaking SLC school. That doesn't rev up the fan base AND YOU KNOW THAT.

To accuse the fan base of being frontrunners is baseless. You can pin that label on just about every fan base of a college and professional team in the USA. If you don't win, people don't show up. And if you have been tanking for the last 10 years like we have --- NOW, HEAR THIS, SMU HAS NOT BEEN TO THE POSTSEASON SINCE THE 1999-2000 SEASON -- are we going to get more than an invitation crowd?

You even recently blasted this program because it has a scattered history of success. So you just diffused your own criticism because people don't instantly think of SMU of being consistently good in basketball. So what are we talking about?

Heck, I watched UCLA and Washington last week. Pauley Pavilion was far from full. Why? The Bruins aren't having a very good year. If they beat Memphis, then things can turn favorable. If not, then you are back to square one.

The game Saturday is pivotal from an attendance perspective. It's like an audition for the team. They win, fans instantly become attached, and will attend the rest of the games at home. We get blown out, and you've lost the casual fan. Simple as that

The poor showing on ESPN against UNLV turned a lot of people off even more. To their credit, Doh & the team have made major adjustments & things are clicking. Faye & McCoy to the bench looks like a great move. RN is healthy. Now McCloy appears to be getting his confidence back & DWill & Papa have been outstanding all season.

I hate to label a single game, however, this game is the most important game in the Doh era imo.
Its all about W's & a win against Memphis brings local & national pub to the program.
Hopefully the team makes it 4 in a row with another W in front of 5K plus, including all the outstanding local 2011 recruits that are giving us a serious look.

More Wins = More fans. That simple.

Oh spare me PonyDoh. I remember going to Texas games as a kid when they were mediocre and being able to pick a seat anywhere near the 50 yard line. The bottom line is that this program has given the students/fans/alumni ZERO reason to be invested in this program. Its about the product on the court. Its been horrid and the fact that we are looking at a season where we had losses to Texas State and a narrow victory over Huston-Tillotson as a step in the right direction only further illustrates the fulite nature of rooting for this filth. Once steps have been made to remedy this and there is a good product on the court, people will come and watch. Labeling SMU as a "frat daddy front runner" school is stupid. Every school wants a winner. Period.

Yes, the one closer to the UCF bench. My fraternity, LXA, will be sponsoring the game Saturday, and none of our freshmen will be wearing jerseys. They will be wearing Red.

we do need a Russ Potts type effort to get more butts in the seats at Moody. I guarantee 5000 supportive and vocal SMU fans in Moody would lead to a much improved product on the court. This team has a HUGE opportunity Saturday and I sincerely hope we can find a way to get at least 5k fans out to support the guys. They've shown they can play with the better teams in our league...now it's time to beat one of them and get some people believing in this program.

For the record...I agree with PonyDoh. Today's SMU student is far more apathetic towards athletics in general than the student population was in the pre-death penalty era. Our problems stem in large part from 20 years of athletic futility. Maybe it was Pye's "vision" for SMU
