The Combine will give him a good idea of what he's looking at as far as being drafted or free agency. For his sake, I hope tears it up and gets a high draft spot.

Agreed. When I posted the link and said "surprised no one has posted this yet", I had seen the blog post a couple hours earlier and was hoping to come over here, find a thread and ask, "doesn't this usually mean the guy will get drafted?"

And RGV, I was thinking the same thing about JJ's potential involvement.

No doubt JJ had his hand in this...

Pretty good story for future recruits....

So we could have more SMU guys drafted under JJ's 2 year tenure than in ther previous 9 years of Caven/Bennett combined.

I was thinking about this and given that (i) we have a pass protect O-line; (ii) we threw the ball a lot; and (iii) the offense usually knew that when he was in, he was running the ball, do we really know how good Shawnbrey is?
At no point in your rambling, incoherent response were you even close to anything that could be considered a rational thought. Everyone in this room is now dumber for having listened to it. I award you no points, and may God have mercy on your soul.

Oh, and one more, per Dan Morrison, the offense with Shawnbrey only ran one running play the entire season and that what we saw was the same play over and over and over again.

But how many variations are to that play?

Didn't Kate have a story in the Hawaii Bowl or something like that where June's passing offense has about 20-25 plays total in it but there are variations to each one?

your right Dooby-but the NFL doesn't know how good he is either because he hasn't run out of a traditional backfield. He reads and reacts in a finesse running game-which is what I've said from Day 1-that's really all there is to a Run and Shoot running back. NFL has to project him to a more traditional offense, facing more traditional defensive alignment designed to focus on running plays rather than chasing 4-5 receivers around the field.
