Don't really understand your luv for the austin cowpatties. You probably don't realize that Akers and his AD were very intrumental in pushing the ncaa to investigate SMU. Thought SMU was your alma mater. I love it when the t-sips get their [deleted] kicked by schools that can pay just as much as they can. Unfortunately, some of those schools have not yet learned to pay off the timekeepers and officials.

We are less likely to have a recruiting battle with UT or play UT than just about any team in the country. Haven't had a recruiting battle with UT in decades. Its an imaginery rivalry-get over it. You can pretend its 1980 but its not. If you wanted to be competing against UT a lot more of should have opened your mouth and complained when Ken Pye decided to play Ivy League Football rather than compete at the highest levels of College Football.

GSP- there are three or four teams that I truly despise. Texas, aTm, ND and once every fall Mich. Go Buckeyes- continue the streak. Someday we can talk about Texas and aTm. I will tell you what went down just before the DP and other sordid details. Then maybe you will understand why many of us have immense dislike for those schools.

I'd give anything for us to have a shot at Texas. We would get most likely get our asses totally kicked but wouldn't it be fun to go down to Austin in a couple of years and at least make a game of it?

I'll never ever understand an SMU undergrad or alum having love for any old SWC foe. I don't care if we recruit against them now, play against them, or not. The best result of a A$M/UT game is the stadium imploding.

Just so you'll know. I've been Texas before I even heard of SMU. But I tell people that outside of marrying my wife, going to SMU was the best thing I ever did. I absolutely love this school. What you may share likely won't change.
