Definition of "Recruiting Over"

This is an excellent crop of WRs better than any group by far since the Ron Morris, Marquis Pleasant, James Collier, Mitchell Bennett, Anthony and Gary Smith etc type kids we used to get. Without questioning whether they play Offense or Defense, I'd say without hesitation that there are at least 4 WR recruits (Jeremy Johnson, Guinyard, Ricky Collins and Kenneth Acker) that tower over anyone we got in 2008 and there are several more like Arthur Londy and Derr'ick Thompson, who I just haven't seen enough video at WR or don't have enough information to make that general claim-I know they are better athletes, faster, bigger and stronger. Don't know much at all about Keenan Holman other than boxscore stats because there isn't much video and he rarely got a pass thrown to him in that offense.

Where do you think they stand v Darius Johnson' talent/potential?

Jeremy Johnson and Darius Johnson are inside receivers and I'd say their comparable talent wise-if I had to choose I'd pick Darius because he has already played that position. But that's not really a slight at Jeremy but rather a recognition of a position change. I think Collins and Guinyard will definitely play outside. Acker will reportedly play DB. We shall see about that. He excelled at offense, defense and special teams so he fits anywhere. They usually bring recruits in during freshman days and look at players at both offense and defense in the first few days. But we need experienced kids with this kind of talent at every position. Hawaii had that-Houston has that. We are slowly getting there. That's when instead of being 60th in Total Offense(regular season) we will be a Top 10 Offense

Isn't "Recruiting Over" basically expected when you win 1 game back to back seasons? I would hope that the recruits we get after a 9 win, bowl winning season basically "replace" the recruits that we got after JJ's 1 win debut. Jones clearly has a good eye for talent, but when you improve that drastically, the quality of the recruits coming in is going to greatly surpass the hidden gems you were running out there before.

I read where Arthur Londy was the best route runner and had the best hands of the group of wr's. Also, said that Londy had the speed to blow by DB's.

We are recruiting over and TCU is recruiting up. I think after 2011 we should hopefully be able to start recruiting up also and then the sky is the limit.

I think I've only seen 3-4 plays of Londy on video-so that's where I'm coming from-but as I followed his Senior Year he was a home run hitter with over 20 yards per catch. Being cautious in not including him because I've seen so much more video on the others. Londy could be a stud.

Were you also there when he won our second win that should have been a LOSS to UAB?

Not an apologist, just don't think BLM deserves all of the blame for losses like some people like to do.

Not to bash BLM, but he made the UAB game close with his INT's.

You could have something there, how did they score enough points to beat SMU.
