According to the post game interview he has implemented a run and shoot type offense like June Jones has but for basketball with progression in it for the point guard to read. I found that comment pretty cool in the post game interview.

Doh got pretty heated in the interview when they mentioned the loss at Texas State started the month off and Doh was mad .....'I just won the biggest game..(of my career?) and you mention that game?...Geez guys' ...he was not happy. It was funny though.

it's called the motion spread or spread motion, but in reality it's a modified version of the princeton O. It has basically no similarities to the run'n'shoot, but it's going to be very effective especially when we get some pass first kids and additional shooters
“When I first committed to SMU, I thought it would take a couple of years of building. But with these players coming in, we should make a run. We have a lot of heavy hitters. It could get real ugly for a lot of teams we play.â€- Jalen Jones

You think the kids we have coming in next year will contribute to this? I haven't seen any of them play.

PonyDoh...can you explain why Papa and Derek don't pick and roll at all? It's open more than 75% of time off the screen.

To be honest, Will isn't a great passer and looks to penetrate first. Beyond that, Papa isn't really a face up, where folks have to honor his foul line extended jumper, so pick and pop doesn't work. If we hit Dia on the roll, he'd still get the ball in space, probably about 15 ft or so from the rack, b/c we set it so high. That's not a great situation for his skill set. That said, a kid like Vilde/Smith will make people honor the pop, which could open the roll. Now we just need a true PG, b/c this offense will really work w/pass first kids and shooters

The kids next year help this offense immensely, mostly b/c all 3 can shoot and Pats can really pass. SMUs '10 class still needs a PG, but it's has the most skill of any of Doh's classes. It won't rate as highly as other classes, mostly b/c it's chock full of euro's, and a kid from the British Virgin Islands, who didn't really play much AAU, but it's polished. The PGs they are looking at could really set it off, so let's hope we land one. More exciting is that we already have several quality Texas kids lined up w/SMU as their favorite in '11. That class will be strong

Except there are no back door cuts like Princeton's offense, which would be nice to see.

that's the way in which it's been modified. When your strength is a penetrating lead guard that likes to finish(Will/McCoy), don't muck up the lane w/random bodies. Still, we should have hot reads and go backdoor, most anytime they overplay on the wings. Work in progress, but I imagine it will smooth itself out, when we get pass first kids, and kids who work well off the ball.
