Pastner looked like more of an idiot than Doh did.
I don't the story behind the white tennis shoe night - but he they looked like idiots. yes
Coaches vs cancer, guess you feel like the idiot now?

Joe Lunardi had UAB and Marshall in last week. Marshall has since dropped out, and lost to Houston tonight.

I was talking about how Pastner was acting, not his shoes

That's not right and so negative...Memphis has only lost to top 15 teams this year and to UTEP, who is also a good team. SMU played well and deserved to win and it was against a very talented and tough team. There are 3 or maybe 4 NBA quality players on their team.
enjoy the win I definitely did, but cmon, this memphis team just slipped past Marshall the other night, and only beat Southern Miss by 2. Sourthern Miss is what 1-5 in the league? Kilmer is right, this is a down year for CUSA, definitely a one bid league again i think. UAB looks like the class of the conference talent wise. honestly beating uab would have been a better win than beating memphis, name value aside.
Hey we have been waiting for a more competitive CUSA instead of Memphis just running away with it every year. How about maybe all the other teams are just catching up with Memphis, including SMU. The coaching and the talent has been getting better around the league as a whole over the past few years. Tulsa, UTEP or UAB could win the CUSA tournament and Memphis could be a at large entry because of their reputation, so we could have two NCAA teams in the dance. Memphis could have 22-24 wins at tournament time and just not the 30 wins they are used to. If you watch(ed) these Memphis kids you see some deep athletic talent and not some down trodden Memphis team.

They are just not as deep as in the past because they had to re-load this past year and have 5 freshmen to work into the line up And BTW Marshall is 15-6 with only a 8 point loss to West Virginia this year, so they are on their way up also.[/quote]

Was a great win, no matter how you slice it, Yes Memphis was not the same team as in the past, but they were still the top RPI team in CUSA and 15-5. Was a great win by our guys, a comfortable win. This team finally believes and gets Doh's system, and he has learned too.
Make no mistake, coming up on February 1st, this SMU team is one of the best teams in C-USA.
Probaly won't happen...BUT...maybe it will!!

For effect..I will say it again. SMU is one of the best teams in C-USA at this point, and will finish strong.

3rd in RPI in CUSA, behind UAB (23) and Tulsa (in the 50s).

Sure, we could have played better but (a) Moody was electric, (b) Doh was hilarious when the students were yelling "BS" at a call Doh agreed with, (c) Papa Dia gave us an inside game we never see, (d) our free throws one the game for us and (e) even Paul McCoy looked like he was having fun.

We are in prime position to make some noise the rest of the season. It starts with killing two teams we should beat on the road. This team is playing with unbelievable confidence, and I EXPECT us to win.

Lets enjoy beating memphis while they are down...because they wont be for long; with the 7th, 11th and 12th ranked players in the nation coming in next year to make up the number 1 recruiting class in the nation ( three 5* and two 4*)

Actually, no I don't. It looked stupid and wasn't exactly obvious the coaches were "fighting" cancer by wearing tacky-as-hell shoes with their suits. Their HC didn't even have a matching coat/slacks combo. Gray coat with black slacks AND white shoes?! C'mon.

Well tune into other college games across the nation and you'll see plenty of coaches wearing the same tacky suit & tennis shoes combo. Yes, it is tacky but it also gets your attention, thus bringing awareness. Even though the SMU staff didn't look as tacky in their casual attire, it kind of defeated the purpose of wearing tennis shoes as a statement. The suits with tennis shoes statement has been going on for several years now.
