postgame interview

Postby Hoop Fan » Thu Jan 29, 2004 10:13 pm

Dement sounded totally unemotional. He has either decided to be the most professional guy on earth through this or he doesn't care anymore and can't wait to get out. I just can't believe he doesn't care, especially with his son on the team. His son seems like a great kid, and liked by his teammates. Its just mind boggling whats going on here.

I still can't believe this is a team that beat Texas Tech, Purdue and took Wake to the wire.

Dement has had the wheels come off before, but all prior occurrances pale by comparison.

There's a difference between unemotional and distraught. Hoopfan, have you ever been so upset that you were just stunned and didn't no quite what to do?? I imagine that is how Dements feels. To say he "doesn't care" is ludicrous and quite ignorant. Does anybody "not care" about losing their job? He's not rich, you know. He probably has bills, a large mortgage, etc.

Take a reading comprehension class Ed. I said that I just don't believe that he doesn't care. But based on the very unusual public comments he has made the past few weeks about getting tougher players and about giving up coaching if the players wont play, its not as if I have invented this issue with my ignorant post. I realize Dement is not necessarily financially set, but I also wouldnt be surprised if he was confident he would find another gig, and I wouldnt blame if he actually wanted to after 9 years.

Actually, I'm going to edit what I just wrote. It's just not worth responding...

Oh, I read it. Just decided not to respond to the personal insult. I've been supportive of Dement and I do understand, if you think I'm out in left field on this so be it.
