A 26 point loss on the road to a 13-4 team could be explained away if we didn't know how listlessly the ponies played. The team is dead. This season needs to be buried now. Someone find a gracious way to let Dement out of his contract so he doesn't lose his sanity. Please keep me away from sharp objects tongiht or I might hurt myself. :unsure:

same old tired story. While UTEP plays team ball and hands out 20 assists to only 9 turnovers, SMU turns it over 17 times and hands out only 9 assists. Our PG continues to play NBA "one on one" ball, turning it over 6 times against only 3 assists while shooting 4-13 from the floor. In fairness to Bhop, the whole team shot poorly. Isham and Miller were a combined 1-10. I wonder if those were "good looks" at the basket, or whether they were hurried shots? Hard for me to believe we are this bad. I think we are just playing poorly. I've seen what this team can do when they are playing with confidence and effort. It's a far cry from what they have produced in January.

On the plus side, we actually out-rebounded UTEP 43-38. I guess part of that is because they shot 53% and we shot 36%. Plenty of offensive board opportunities (we had 19 vs their .

My head needs to be examined. Why do I even care anymore?

10,276 were in attendance. When if ever could SMU have these kind of numbers? I made it throught the night and am off suicide watch now, thank you. I can't say as much for the team. :confused:

Probably never, Sam, since Moody doesnt hold that many people. Capacity is under 9,000. The last legitimate packed house that I remember was against Tulsa, Sasser's junior season. Texas Tech brought a pretty good crowd this year.

No football joy and now no basketball joy. Seems what at one time was a promising year has turn to dust.

So, how is the women's rowing team doing this year? Maybe we will get lucky and have a winning rowing team.

Not that it is terribly relevant today, but the largest SMU crowd in Moody history is 10,276 (how ironic is that??) on 1/13/79 against Texas A$M (we had 10,091 vs Texas on 2/20/79). In 1984 Moody was reconfigured which resulted in it's present capacity of 9,007.

Before the Mavericks arrived, we were the only game in town, and it was very unusual for SMU to draw less than 5,000 for a home game. Frequently games against A$M, Arkansas and Texas would be complete in-advance sellouts.
