The extreme example in SMU Sports was probably the 1949 football game with Notre Dame. The Cotton Bowl was full and today we survivors must be pretty well thinned out. But at one time I'll bet that if you counted all the wishful thinkers and story tellers as well as those who were there, well the number would have been greater than the capacity of the stadium.

This basketball game with Memphis might turn out to be a little the same way. Five years from now a lot of folks who could barely could find their way to the campus may tell folks they were there the day SMU won 70 - 60.

I've made this long introduction to ask the questions. What was the attendance? How would you describe the crowd?

Attendance was a little over 4,000...but the crowd was energetic and really into it.
