angryfan, you are the master of the drive-by, but discuss nothing. look at where the roster is going and who we're in on. Look at the system in place now, both offensively and defensively. These are recipes for success in CUSA. The program should have had traction sooner, nobody is denying that. However, it has some solid footing now, including the new staff. Roughly, It's also achieving the results must of us who truly follow, set for the program this year. I'm not discouraged at all
Precisely. I don't think any realistic fan who follows the program closely expected us to go 26-7 with a berth in the Sweet 16 this year. 10-11 at this point in the season IS improvement.

a lot of us came into this season hopeful this team could go .500 or even a little better, but I felt like doing so was going to require an up tempo game where we would have McCoy, DWill, Nyakundi, Haynes and Clink knocking down treys from all over the floor. Obviously that wasn't meant to be. Going .500 at this point and maybe winning a 1st round game in CUSA are pretty lofty goals.

dude, we don't have the type of athletes nor the bench to play uptempo basketball... You need a team that's about 8-9 deep to play uptempo basketball... we have no subs in the middle as Papa is the only big guy that can play inside... Also, Jwill is the only decent PG we have at this point... With that type of roster we CANNOT play uptempo. As much pain as it causes for you guys to watch our offense, it is the only way we can stay competative by slowing down the game...

OK, forget the "up tempo" part...the only way we were going to be competitive this year was from knocking down treys...the great equalizer in college ball. Papa has come on nicely, but anyone who thought we were going to make noise in the post was kidding themselves. This roster screams perimeter players.

I'm the first to say what we're doing is working, and I'm fine w/the slowdown, as it makes a ton of sense long-term for this program, but I'm w/Charleston. It's impossible to look at the current roster and their various skill sets and think we're a half court team. We have one, maybe two half court kids on the roster. On the bright side, we have 3 more next year, so as long as PG is adequately addressed, we should work the slowdown a little better
“When I first committed to SMU, I thought it would take a couple of years of building. But with these players coming in, we should make a run. We have a lot of heavy hitters. It could get real ugly for a lot of teams we play.â€- Jalen Jones
