It was also filmed at the Hop in Fort Worth on Berry Street. Edie Brickell (SMU alum) sang a Dylan song on the Hop's stage in that film. Years before, Dylan sang there himself. They also liked to serve pitchers of beer to an underage Dooby.

Now the Hop is called the Aardvark and it sucks.
At no point in your rambling, incoherent response were you even close to anything that could be considered a rational thought. Everyone in this room is now dumber for having listened to it. I award you no points, and may God have mercy on your soul.

For that shoot, the film crew took over most of the dang quad (as film crews are wont to do). Big buzz on campus, at least in my circles. One night, there was a throng of SMU students, mostly chicks of course, waiting outside Tom Cruise's trailer. I remember him stepping out the door for a while, and to his credit, being quite gracious, signing autographs and posing with students for numerous photos holding up an SMU sweatshirt. He was still quite young I suppose, so he had not had sufficient time to go completely insane yet

I remember riding my bike to the house Cruise was staying in in HP, just next to the Y. That was while he was still cool from Top Gun.

Milo's has never looked better.....really. Also filmed in Snider Plaza for the parade and South Dallas for his boyhood home.

So SMU was supposed to be Syracuse University?
