That's the way to pump up the fan base. Please do not volunteer for the Morgan Campaign.

Hopefully, the ticket stub "checkers" will be well trained, understand their true role and responsibility and are filled with a dash of professionalism and empathy. OR....

This is a two edge sword. Have you ever been by the student section just prior to kickoff? The yellow jackets are checking ticket stubs and the back up to seats is a nightmare. The isles are packed, the walk way between the upper and lower seating is jammed, the tunnels into the stadium are packed.

There needs to be some quick professional method in place before the first game.

The yellow shirted "gentleman" who was very abrupt with my wife last year over a water bottle need not apply...

Somehow I doubt we'll have enough people dropping $500 and $1000 for seat licenses to have quite the same backup as the student section.

I am going to miss all the losing a little bit because when you're team goes 2-22 and only draws 15k a game, you can bring in anything you want, and do pretty much whatever you want once you're inside.

Lower 104 is sold out. Everyone I know in the section has no problem with $1000.00
Including me. And the few that say know, those tickets will be gone in a heart beat.
I need two more.

I hope that becomes an increasingly familiar term - in regard to SMU football at Ford Stadium.

To respond to somebody about dropping thousands of dollars, I gladly will do it because this school did so much for me and setting me up for the rest of my life in terms of where I work.

When you tell people that you went to SMU, it carries a lot of weight, expecially outside the state of Texas.

And that's why I believe SMU can do in five years what TCU has done in 10. We have a national name and when SMU is good, it catches people's attention.

I think many of us underestimate the power of the SMU name because we're too close.

To illustrate what a deal this is, I just got off the phone with a friend of mine who is Tennessee and Georgia guy. Just to keep an ordinary seat, ticket holders are looking at $1K on top of the ticket prices. Last I saw Tennessee and Georgia were fielding pretty decent football teams.

So do you want this program to step up or not?

And for the person who predicted we're going to have flat or lower ticket sales, I wouldn't be so sure about that. Believe me, the athletic department would not have announced this if there wasn't a plan in place to aggressively market the program and capture more fringe fans and bring in more revenue.

I don't about the rest of you clowns but I want to win. Dinero helps you get there.

According to sources in the Mustang Club, SMU was about dead last in price per seat revenue last year in comparison to the rest of CUSA. (football)

With the newly implemented prices it places us third in conference. I was wondering who was #1 and #2 ECU UCF?

Of course one thing that is constantly overlooked are the SMU opponents. Who cares about ECU, CFU, Marshall, S. Miss, etc. Half of our games are meaningless to the local sports fan and to SMU fans and to me.

Now if we were to play Baylor, TT, aTm, North Texas, TCU, along with some of our current conference opponents, then the dinero to see these games is meaningful and worth the price. But as long as we continue with half of the current conference opponents, then the attendance just will not be there, and the prices just are hard to justify.

It is just difficult for me to "pony" up a 333% percent increase to see 3 maybe 4 meaningful games. This is a big decision for me and the question I keep asking myself is "Is it worth the money now to possibly see better opponents in the future?" Hopefully I will have an answer by May 1.

In my opinion, we need to push for an expanded MWC with TCU, SMU, UTEP, HOUSTON, TULSA and maybe North Texas as an east division. Then we can play Air Force, BYU, UTAH, BOISE, etc. These are much much better games and would warrant the prices.

I have a friend who has Oklahoma season tickets. This is his deal for two seats in the SECOND DECK at Memorial Stadium.

He pays $500 donation plus the ticket cost EACH for those two seats. Then when he added two more, he had to pledge five figures over a certain number of year plus the ticket fees.

When I told him my situation, his quote to me was, "You are in line with the $500."

I'm telling you folks, this is the way it works. It's all over the place in CFB. If you want great seats and you want to keep them, it ain't free.

You're paying to watch your alma mater kick some butt. The schedule just enhances the value.

Friend of mine at LSU has tickets on the 45 yard line about 2/3s of the way up at Tiger Stadium. To keep his OUTDOOR seats, he has to give $750 per seat ($1,500 total) in addition to the ticket prices.

Again, a lot of you don't like this because it's new to you and it's hitting you like a 2x4. People can be frightened of change.

if this extra dinero means we're hosting and competing for conference championships, we're paying assistant coaches more to get them to come or to stay, then what are we talking about?
