Already Excited about Recruiting Class 2011Let's see what kind of momentum the Hawaii Bowl and real expectations for this year will do for next years recruiting class. I'm already excited to see what kind of guys give SMU a look. Would love to reel in some 4 stars this year.

Try this thread out. ![]() viewtopic.php?f=2&t=44611&start=0 SMU's first president, Robert S. Hyer, selected Harvard Crimson and Yale Blue as SMU's colors to symbolize SMU's high academic standards. We are one of the few Universities to have school colors with real meaning...and we just blow them off.
Re: Already Excited about Recruiting Class 2011haha I am not complaining! It is just odd to see all the SMU fans so ready to talk about next year when this coming years recruits just got tagged and bagged. Do we have any verbals already for 2011?

Re: Already Excited about Recruiting Class 2011can we please get some more DL help next year?
Re: Already Excited about Recruiting Class 2011These days there are more big commitments from February through May than there are November through February. Quite frankly most of the commitments near closing date are either 5 star guys who are just playing media games or the leftovers that people are trying to finish out their class. As pointed out by Pony Doh with regard to late/early basketball recruits some of the late recruits get more spotlite than they probably deserve because there are really few quality recruits left in play. Look at many of the teams we were competing with for our last few commits-not exactly high caliber competition but these guys got more media play that many of the top recruits signed earlier. Recruiting will explode on this Sunday Nite and the next Sunday Nite when UT gets commitments from its two Senior Days. In fact, 10 players in a prominent 2011 Top 100 list have already committed-and none are committed to UT yet. Most schools-even out of state schools- realize that if you don't offer before UT's two early Senior Days you most likely won't have a chance at most of top Texas recruits. Recruiting is year round now but the real actions is just about to start.

Re: Already Excited about Recruiting Class 2011WHat should our expectations be for the upcoming recruiting year? Obviously we aren't competing with UT, but what shoul dwe be looking for...more guys with BCS offers from schools like KU, Mizzo, A&M, Tech, TCU?
Re: Already Excited about Recruiting Class 2011Hopefully 2011 is the year we get a handful of 4 Star recruits..
Re: Already Excited about Recruiting Class 2011How about 3-4 Texas Top 100s. Tulsa got 2 from the 2010, another who was top 20 in the 2008 Class and another who was the Top player in Oklahoma in 2008. TCU signed 4 Texas Top 100s, UH signed 4 Texas Top 100s. That would be a nice start.
