I'm not usually into bold predictions, but SMU is gonna beat Nevada at Moody. I think our guys will show some pride and defend the homecourt better than we have.
SMU 71 - Nevada 70

Re: NevadaI too was surprised how poorly Nevada played, particularly Snyder who was playing in front of approximately 15 NBA scouts. I kept my eye on them all night and it was interesting to see them react to BHop's terrific play (as you all know, they where there to see Snyder). Yes, BHop had a great night, with minimal turnovers and terrific outside shooting.
We were still incredibly fortunate at the end. I've never seen one end that way, and I have seen many more games than I would care to admit. Good Job Ponies! [ 02-05-2004, 07:49 PM: Message edited by: Diehard Pony ]
Re: Nevadayou sure you were watching the right guy-Snyder had 29 points and 7 rebounds?

Re: NevadaHe had a great second half, but an embarassing first half. Truly embarassing.
Re: NevadaDement acknowledged in post game interview that we would lose the statistical battle in rebounding, because they made the decision to drop 4 guys to defend against any Nevada fast break buckets, meaning offensive rebounds would be lopsided. Nevada had 19 offensive boards to our 7. Sounds strangely like coaching strategy, doesn't it? Looks like slow ball is here to stay. At least for the rest of this season.
Re: NevadaCP - the problem though is defensive rebounding for us. Its not like we are getting out on the fast break either. Nevada played volleyball at the rim all night. You cant let that happen.

Re: NevadaSounds like SMU played a great game with a great gameplan. Congratulations on the win and good luck the rest of the way. Hopefully this win gives the mustangs some momentum heading into the WAC tourney.
Kind of tough for Snyder to get up for NBA scouts now. Every game he plays in now there's 15+ scouts. There were 15-20 last night, 15-20 against Tulsa, 15-20 the other night against Fresno, 25 against Kansas. It's just part of the game now for him. Sounded like he put up good numbers but was an off night for him. His field goal percentage was way down. Sounds like Hopkins put up some numbers. Hopefully the scouts were impressed.
Re: NevadaSmack can be fun but it sure is nice to hear a classy post from the opposition every now and then.

Re: NevadaThis was a great game by BHop. The only fault you can find is assists to TO's but if you're scoring the assists sometimes fall off. Maybe we need to get some scuts there every night.
