Re: Why would you want to play for Coach Doh?he does not have a 7 year contract
Re: Why would you want to play for Coach Doh?
My understanding is that his original contract was a 5 year deal. I am not aware that he has been given a 2 year extention. I keep seeing posts indicating that he is here for 7. Can anyone definitively state the current status of his contract???? I am one who happens to believe he does not have the personal people skills to lead, inspire, energize, instill confidence and create the team atmosphere for a winning tradition.
Re: Why would you want to play for Coach Doh?If I'm not mistaken this came from a DMN article (columnist, not beat reporter). I have been dubious of this claim until someone with real knowledge of the situation comes forward.

Re: Why would you want to play for Coach Doh?It's a five year with a two year extension option, is what I understand.
Re: Why would you want to play for Coach Doh?Is that an automatic extension? Who holds the trigger, SMU or Doh?

Re: Why would you want to play for Coach Doh?Plain and simple, we don't have the players to play with UTEP. I do need to watch the post game and see how that went.
Re: Why would you want to play for Coach Doh?
Yes, we may not have the calibur or players to beat UTEP; however, we proved we could be competitive as demonstrated in the first game. The concern of most are the tentative performances of the players, lack of energy, fear of mistakes, failure to be aggressive, lack of a defensive style, lack of leadership on the court and bench, lack of decernable offensive philosophy...etc. Obviously a loss is a loss; however, losses with energy, team play, enthusiasm, leadership, effort...etc. demonstrate progress, improvement, maturity and hope. Unfortunately, the concern is that with the exception of several games this season we do not see the tangible and intangible elements of progress necessary for this program to appreciably improve. This responsiblity rests solely in the head coach.
Re: Why would you want to play for Coach Doh?Long term, I cannot say I would want him on the Hilltop. Why it took him 4 years to come up with a "system" for CUSA, I have no clue. He's definitely running out of time and making Dement look like a top notch coach up until his last year or two. While Memphis was a nice win - I'm real concerned about next year w/ Williams gone. It really doesn't take a genius to figure out how to beat us.
I am impressed with Geary and what he's done with Dia. I think that was a good find w/ his knowledge and experience. Hopefully he'll stick around.
