Has anyone else noticed that, for the most part, visitors to Ponyfans.com from our opponents' schools seem to be wittier, have more class, and write with better grammatical command than our regular alumni, students and fans? Not to mention a better understanding of modern effective football strategy.
I've hung a curveball out over the plate... can anyone hit it out? Please?

Jettison, thou art a twit.
Not nearly a homerun, but at least credit me with a bunt.
I will say that the visitors to ponyfans.com have been remarkably gracious; certainly more civil than we are to each other at times. With our current predicament, you'd almost expect hecklers, but I think 1) people generally like the underdog (and Lord knows that's us), and 2) I think everyone generally agrees that SMU got a bum deal from the NCAA, and therefore, people feel somewhat sympathetic.
Same reason why it's difficult to build rivalries between bad teams.
As for our little dysfunctional family, my best guess is that it's just the frustration talking. Fighting between siblings, so to speak.

We have had numerous visitors from fans of LaTech, N.C. State and Hawaii, and for the most part they write well. On the whole, they're no better or worse than ours. SMU still gives a great degree. Don't ever sell us short.

Wouldn't hurt if people would use the spell check feature now available....at least we would look a little more educated.
SMU's first president, Robert S. Hyer, selected Harvard Crimson and Yale Blue as SMU's colors to symbolize SMU's high academic standards. We are one of the few Universities to have school colors with real meaning...and we just blow them off.
