But you can sell alcohol to people in "clubs," which is why alcohol is sold in the stadium club. I have said on here before - if you simply add a one-day "club membership" to each ticket sold, you can sell alcohol in Ford Stadium.

Yeah...and we can increase our attendance numbers by the number of TABC agents at the games looking for under age consumers. :)

I'll take an attendance increase any way we can get it :)

As many have pointed out before, attendance - especially student attendance - would change dramatically if kids could go to these games and keep drinking. Really wish SMU would look into this.

On game day you wear jeans, you wear your hand made alligator boots and hide the flask in the boots. You will have to spring for the soft drink mixer at the concession stand.

private club rule gets around it. head up to the stadium club. there's beer & wine in there.

that's uncomfortable. just wear pants and put it in your front pocket. i got checked ZERO times. and if they do catch it in my pocket, there is no crime being committed (that i'm aware of since the container isn't open). worst case they ask you to throw it out.

or do what i used to do, have Mrs Dutch carry a big purse. at the BOTTOM of the purse put your big traveler of Beam. pile on assorted "purse contents" and then at the top toss in a decoy airplane bottle. they'll find that, think they've made their big bust, confiscate the little decoy and you're home free. worked on several occasions. (cookies make a good decoy too)

I am fully aware of that. I suppose the whole stadium could be declared a private club, but policing that would be a nightmare...not to mention the liability issues.
SMU's first president, Robert S. Hyer, selected Harvard Crimson and Yale Blue as SMU's colors to symbolize SMU's high academic standards. We are one of the few Universities to have school colors with real meaning...and we just blow them off.

Now Dutch, after the pre party at the SAE house, then the keg on the bus out to Texas Stadium, you could have stuck a 2x4 in my boot and it would have been comfortable.

I'm not talking about back when i was in school. 'cuz that's exactly how we did it then (except it was the KA house and Cotton Bowl). i'm talking about now.
