Food recommendations at DFW?

Post by Garret »

I just realized that I have 1.5 hours at DFW on my way back to San Diego from DC Wednesday night and I will need to grab a quick dinner there. Does anyone have a recommendation for a place that I should go to that isn't the standard fast food fare? I'm flying on American Airlines.

anything in Terminal D...there is an Irish Pub called Tigin (I think) that has fish n chips type stuff...also a Champps Sports Bar&Grill...Reata Grill...Laredo Cantina....there is a burrito/bbq/fuddruckers area. Plenty of places to have a drink as well...Cool River good as well. I'd rank them 1) Cool River 2) Tigin 3) Laredo Cantina 4) Champps

The other terminals have your usual stuff...TGIFridays and fast food courts. There is a place called the Tequileria that's okay to have a drink at, but has crappy service.

Admirals Clubs have pretty good panini sandwiches & salads.

If you can change to Southwest, they serve peanuts. Both regular and honey glazed. If you explain it is your dinner they will give you an extra bag or two.

The operative word here is "give". AA won't "give" you anything except if you bend over. 8)
SMU's first president, Robert S. Hyer, selected Harvard Crimson and Yale Blue as SMU's colors to symbolize SMU's high academic standards. We are one of the few Universities to have school colors with real meaning...and we just blow them off.

ditto terminal D. the skylink will get you from anywhere in DFW to anywhere else in under 10 minutes. just take the tram to D. you won't have to exit security.

and the sandwitches in the Admirals club suck in my opinion. Reatta is my go-to place for drinks & food before a flight.
Ok this is getting ridiculous...I agree with Dutch on THIS ONE POST by him totally

Thank you for all of the suggestions. Unfortunately, my flight out of DC was delayed for over 2 hours due to weather problems near the DFW airport so I missed my connecting flight to San Diego. I am at the Westin near the airport and will try stand-by tomorrow morning...the first confirmed seat they could get me was 10:10pm tomorrow, but I have several chances via standby.

Dutch,

I would have loved to try your place, but American Airlines got me on the first flight out in the morning so I was back in San Diego before 10:15am. They even threw in 2 meal vouchers that paid for my breakfast this morning before I boarded the plane. They put me on the top of the standby list and I was 1 of the 2 standby people who got on the flight.
