Turn arounds and all time low feelingRemember 2008 when that perennial power house Univeristy of Arkansas Pine Bluff came to SMU with a 0-10 record. They came in on their 10 th consecutive road game (done to bolster their financial needs) and spanked us in our gym. That is still their only non conference win in 2 years including an 0-11 away from home start this year. Well, they are now Champions of the Southwestern Athletic Conference and going to the NCAA Tourney with a 17-15 season after winning their Conference Championship.

Re: Turn arounds and all time low feeling
Does this mean we should remain patient; hire their coach; play their schedule and/or change conferences????
Re: Turn arounds and all time low feelingI do not pretend to have any answers. It is just depressing to see ths team who cannot beat anyone outside of their conference, other than us on our home court, going to the tourney. I do not know their RPI but it cannot be high. They have already conceded they will be in the play in game.

Re: Turn arounds and all time low feeling
I feel the same frustration and simply do not see the progress to the basketball program. Even when JJ was 1-11 the first year there were many positive things eminating every where surrounding the program. Recruiting was improved, the coaching staff was excellent and really teaching with patience, an atmosphere of determination and positive attitudes permiated the program, the kids were fired up, the off season was conducted with vigor, and it was very apparent that the kids bought into JJ's program and were willing to follow. JJ and staff inspired, were very positive, reinforcing, supportative, nurturing, encouraging, demostrated excellent leadership, discipline...etc. All of those things we do not see with the basketball program.
