Linebacker Pete Fleps, who will be a senior in the fall, will miss all of the Ponies' spring workouts after undergoing surgery a few weeks ago to repair the rotator cuff in his right shoulder.
Fleps said he hurt the shoulder early in the season, but didn't realize the severity of the injury.
"It might have been the Washington State game," he said. "I sort of strained it backward, but I didn't think it was that serious, so I played through it."
Fleps no longer wears a sling on his shoulder, and is doing some cardio work while his teammates go through the Ponies' offseason strength and conditioning program. He said he expects to be back to 100 percent before the team's preseason workouts begin in August.
