Just bought my 2010 season ticket

Postby Texasscout96 » Fri Mar 19, 2010 2:10 pm

Ok, you all probably hate me because I disagree strongly (and have on this board) with the plan to suddenly require large Mustang Club donations to buy season tickets.

Well I just decided that I would call the ticket office today and see what they had in section 123 and 124 on the student side. It turned out that they had good seats in the first 5 rows so I bought my ticket for next year. I am actually pleased with the way it turned out because I will be sitting in the first 5 rows VERY close to the 50 yard line.

The benefits from doing to me are as follows:

1) Cost effective ($120 for 6 games instead of $630 for section 103)
2) in essense on the 50 yard line and VERY close to the field
3) near the SMU student section and SMU band
4) in a place where I can join in on the post game celebrating/Varsity singing with the team

I'll admit I was very frustrated with the thought of losing my seats but the solution may actually be more fun. This may end up being more of like a young alumni type of experience.

So thank you to all that suggested looking into the student side season ticket ideas. I appreciate that.

Glad you were able to work something out that you like...and more importantly, glad you will be there for the games. :)
SMU's first president, Robert S. Hyer, selected Harvard Crimson and Yale Blue as SMU's colors to symbolize SMU's high academic standards. We are one of the few Universities to have school colors with real meaning...and we just blow them off.

attendance is the most important thing right now in terms of our fan support. If people don't like their seats on the home side, please join this poster on the student side...just please don't quit coming to the games

So the value proposition is you can buy 33 seats on the 50yd line rows 1 -5 (student side)

OR

buy 2 stadium club seats with Meadows parking (free food)

It would be a lot more fun to come to the games with a couple rows of friends vs. one friend in the seat next to you.

I seriously might have to reconsider. Get 10 - 15 tickets for 1/2 of what you were going to pay (2 stadium seats) and bring the Mustang Posse with you to all the games.

I am right there with you. I feel like my group is being priced out. After 10 years of buying 12+ tickets in section 104, I trhink we are going to move down to the 25 on the home side, so our group can stay together. I never understand why when SMU wants to generate more revenue they always try and tap the same well. At least I am going to be able to kepp my Blvd. spot.

No way who ever gets your seats will be a better fan or look better sitting in them.

Definitely not a better fan but that girl that sat in that seat next to you one game was a little better looking.
