UTEP head coach Mike Price has suspended three players — QB Trevor Vittatoe, WR Pierce Hunter and OL Alex Solot — for the always-curious "violation of team rules."
Best part: they're suspended for six spring practices. For three guys about to be seniors, is this a penalty at all? They know the coaches, they know their teammates, they know their plays.
What's the message here? "We're mad at you for screwing up, so go home and take a nap or watch Pardon the Interruption"?
Would be nice to see Price do what he wants us to think he's doing and actually suspend the guys for something that matters, like a game. I propose he suspend them against SMU.
