Donut Wars

Post by Dooby »

Who has the best donut in Dallas?

I just got back from NY and took a special trip to the Doughnut Plant in the Lower East Side and immediately declared it was the best donut ever. I told her it was better than a beignet at Cafe Du Monde in New Orleans and she said I was nuts. Then she took a bite and proclaimed it was a good F'ing donut. Of course, they are $2-$3 a pop.

Anyway, is there a good donut place in town?

Way back when...Lone Star Donuts on Mockingbird was amazing. I quit drinking and got addicted to the Cinnamon rolls.

Throwdown is where I heard of Doughnut Plant as it was on there as well. Flay got smoked in the donut challenge. The owner made the signature Tres Leches doughnut, which is better than crack cocaine. Flay admitted at the beginning he was going to get smoked because he had their doughnuts all the time.

watched Man vs Food the other night, and his "challenge" was blueberry pancakes from some restaurant in Honolulu. As I looked more closely, turns out the restaurant was inside the hotel I stayed at for the Hawaii Bowl.

I had some good ones in Natchez, MS. Ridic good actually. Mustangs took a turn about 20 years ago and has never been the same. In high school we used to do some off-season stuff at the SMU track and would swing by for a dozen glazed on the way back.
