With the graduation of Chase Kennemer, SMU lost one of the key players on its defense, and one of the nation's leading tacklers. But his contributions went beyond the tackles — he also made the defensive calls for the Ponies, and was an extension of the coaching staff on the field.
SMU linebackers coach Joe Haering visited with PonyFans.com to detail how the SMU linebackers will adjust without Kennemer, and without two other players who had offseason shoulder surgery.
