SPRING PREVIEW: Wide receivers

Postby PonyPride » Mon Mar 29, 2010 12:46 am

The quarterbacks in SMU Mustangs head coach June Jones' offense garner a lot of attention, and with good reason, since they can put up gaudy statistical numbers while guiding the Run-and-Shoot. But no quarterback will have any success without able receivers to catch his passes, pile up yards and help get the team to the end zone.

SMU wide receivers coach Jeff Reinebold visited with PonyFans.com to discuss the players who will be catching passes in 2010, who has the ability to earn a look from NFL scouts and who has the ability to fill the leadership role vacated by the graduated Emmanuel Sanders.

Interesting. With Haynes, Fleming and now Bailey, we suddenly have three big targets to whom Padron can throw. Certainly presents a new wrinkle for defenses to worry about.
