J'mission Morgan

Former 5 Star center out of South Oak Cliff who signed with UCLA. Never played, supposedly was lazy....he is transfering from UCLA....I will take anything we can get, can't be any worse than that JC center from San Diego!

We need a PG, not a lazy C.

Curious, but TK seemed to be more skilled than Luttman...and yet Luttman played. Is TK lazy? If so, do we need another lazy 5?

I'd take a chance on the guy if his dismissal isn't discipline-related. If he's just a knucklehead or homesick or something, maybe being near his family and friends would help. Might not, but certainly would be worth checking into.

This has UNT written all over it.
Also, u would have to be an idiot not to pursue a
5 star recruit wanting to come home.
If his grades are good you have to go after him hard.
Look what McNeal did for the football team.

McNeal filled a position of need. Unless this kid can run the point, he won't fill a position of need. When you have limited ships (basketball), you have to do what you can do.

Now, if we can knock TK and/or Luttman off the roster, I'm fine with pursuing this guy.

he's a farce as a 5 star. Problem child that's lazy, doesn't have grades, and doesn't listen. not happening

His brother, Ronnie Morgan, had maybe an offer (some say a commit) with Tubbs in 2006, then had his offer pulled by Doherty when he got to SMU. His only other offers were La Tech and then some no name program. Went to La Tech, didn't see the floor. Transferred to Paris JUCO, where he didn't do much. Never heard what happened to him after that.

"Bobo"'s dad, Ronnie Morgan Sr., played pro-ball somewhere overseas and went to college at UNT before that and was a pretty dominant player for them. May actually have been the best of the Morgan clan, and actually coming from highschool was likely unquestionably more accomplished than his sons were.

J'Mison was a very highly rated, top 20-40ish in the nation, 5 star player coming out of highschool with offers from just about everywhere. Was never dominant in highschool. In fact, I am not sure that he ever poured in more than 12-13ppg, even as a 6'11 senior that was a top 20-40 guy in the nation. He was an effective rebounder and blocked his fair share of shots- plus, he was at a GREAT winning program at SOC, which he was a big part of. You come from a winner like that and it makes me rather surprised about the work ethic, lazy comments, etc.

I remember a lot about this bc in the Tubbs to Doh [deleted] transition there was tons of debate on the matter. use search for more in depth info.

I think you absolutely take him if you have the chance. Everyone is always talking about not being able to recruit DISD player. Here is your shot. We will also have some holes to fill at the center position after 2010-2011 season with the graduation of TK, Papa and Luttman. He will have a year to sit out for transfer rules and be ready to go when those 3 have graduated.

the only way we could get him is if he goes to Collin County CC next year and comes to SMU the year following. We don't have any scholarships for him. We need a PG, and we're gonna get one.
