All I can remember watching the Liberty Bowl was that the stands were empty and the temperature was 8 degrees and very windy. The previous year was much the same. I have little interest in spending good money to watch a game in freezing conditions. Let C-USA keep seeking better bowls and better bowl match ups.

It seems that the SMU program doesn't care about the Liberty Bowl. JJ said that even if SMU was Conference USA Champion, he was still taking his team to Hawaii.

The Liberty Bowl did have a few things going for it. A bowl game with some history, its not one of these "come and go" bowls, and it pitted the C-USA champ against a SEC team and the time slot and dates were usually pretty prime, plus it was a pretty high paying bowl, even though the conference splits out the money.

Now it seems with a crappier SEC team and them balking at C-USA, its a good time to find a new bowl. We need a big donor and sponsor to Pony UP and lock the Dallas Classic into a game between the C-USA champ and the big 10 every year. Possibly could happen in a couple of years.
Probaly won't happen...BUT...maybe it will!!
