On another note, it will not surprise me (it will disappoint me) to see us in black uniforms in a game this year, probably TCU.
Not sure on what to think of black jerseys, but I could see it looking great!

God forbid - black. That would kill about any & all traditions we have left as for our uniforms. If they want something "black", intimidating & sharp looking, go with our TRADITIONAL SCHOOL COLOR - Yale blue. It's a very dark navy blue & $%$# sharp. Just look at the '83 Cotton Bowl pix. Duuhhhh Never understand these schools that add these ridiculous colors like black when they're not even part of the school colors. Hopefully, there will be a very "negative" outcry! And hopefully, we'll get rid of all those "overkilled" stripes on the jerseys & go back to something more conservative & sharp - like no stripes! Too bad we can't start a program to raise the cash through donations for a more traditional "throwback" helmet & uni like so many schools (& pro teams) are provding for special occasions. Especially our 30's & 40's outfits - they were conservative & classy! We're losing that WWII generation & what better way to honor the guys who put SMU on the college football map. Without those guys, there would have been no 80's team to build & consequently the unis to go with them. I remember Meyer & Co. using SMU's history of that era to recruit
BRING BACK THE GLORY DAYS OF SMU FOOTBALL!!!
For some strange reason, one of the few universities that REFUSE to use their school colors: Harvard Crimson & Yale Blue.

Yeah, let's get a throwback helmet all red, and with a white rearing up pony that they used before the running pony we have now. Blue jerseys without shoulder stripes for next year
May the forth be with us.

Correct, but as has been shown through this entire "Mustang" mess...especially in Hawaii where the "Mustangs" were allowed to run across the field just like Peruna, this school cares neither about traditions nor about the viewpoints of the fans and students.

but Orsini might consider voting licenses for an additional $500 which would allow you to express your opinion on which color we might wear. Pony Up!

Of course Houston will be wearing white on the road, but also red since that is their one color, but we also wear blue, so why not wear blue?

Double AMEN!
SMU's first president, Robert S. Hyer, selected Harvard Crimson and Yale Blue as SMU's colors to symbolize SMU's high academic standards. We are one of the few Universities to have school colors with real meaning...and we just blow them off.

I imagine that there is very little or no truth in this possibility, but my first reaction surprised me. I liked it. It is distinctive and helps resolve the blue vs. red options. Our colors are red & blue/blue & red aren't they. The helmut logo also looks pretty good.

This will be something on which we agree to disagree. I do not think we should ever agree to change our uniforms, or anything else at our home stadium or arena to accomodate the opponent. If we are wearing red for the season, we keep wearing red no matter who the opponent is. I do not think we need to "respect" their color by changing ours. Again, however, I would prefer a permanent change to the blue.
