Park Cities People ran a story last week on a kid from Highland Park who plans to walk-on at SMU. The story's not very well-written, but the kid sounds like he's eager to get started.

Also, one of his HP teammates was at the scrimmage Saturday. Defensive End Beau Brooks. Not too big (looked like 6-4, maybe 215 or 220) -- but maybe he could play LB or on special teams. Says he's leaning toward SMU over Texas for walk-on options...

Re: Walk-on story
Walk-ons usually have an exception amount of "heart". The more walk-ons we get the better!
Re: Walk-on story
Walk-on's tend to work harder in the offseason, but most of the pure talent lies in the scholarship athletes.

Keep your eyes on Brian Bischoff and Mike Sroka, they have been making BIG plays.

Re: Walk-on story
What happened to that walk-on that did so well two weeks ago. I cannot recall his name, but he got a lot of praise as well as being the leading tackler of the second scrimmage.

Re: Walk-on story
I think he got hurt, but he is still on the team, if that is what you are worried about!
