So over on the CUSA board there is a topic about way to early predictions for next year. Everyone is posting us (or UH) for coming in 1st or 2nd. What a bizarre feeling? Not sure I have felt this way since becoming a ponyfan back in the 90's. After getting my hopes up and crushed every year, I fear we will miss Shawnbrey........ http://ncaabbs.com/showthread.php?tid=431228

No question, we will miss Shawnbrey and his tremendous performance running exactly 1 play (June himself said ever SM run was a variation on the same play). While we won't have anyone on the roster who has all of the tools Shawnbrey has, something tells me that our running game will be more diversified, and we'll be better through the air, taking some pressure off of Fields, Pope, Line, and Butler.

Wow...not a negative comment regarding SMU. Interesting to see a lot of posters who are fans of teams in the East, favoring SMU across the board. Can't wait for this season to start....

Love the comment that an SMU/ECU championship game will take 6 hours.

I was talking to someone about this the other day. I think any outsider would have to say today that Houston is in 1st, or if not Houston, SMU. Not saying it will turn out that way, but that is most likely.
At no point in your rambling, incoherent response were you even close to anything that could be considered a rational thought. Everyone in this room is now dumber for having listened to it. I award you no points, and may God have mercy on your soul.

Are we forgetting that we tied UH for the West? We should be predicted up there. SMU should be better next season but we won some games in odd ways (and lost some,) in 2009. I am not predicting that we play in the CUSA champ game, but why not us... Hmm... that sounds familiar.

the addition of RB Derrick Hall and about 5 other JUCOs should put Tulsa right back in championship contention. They filled a lot of holes with their JUCO recruiting. Hall was about the No. 18 Player in Texas his Senior year and proved in JUCO to be one of the best JUCO RBs in the country. He signed with A&M out of high school but was a non-qualifier. Just like his Cousin Dante Hall who was that incredible Kick Returner in the NFL with the Kansas City Chiefs he is reputed to run a 4.3(he's a track guy so his speed is legitimate and has a 10.33 100 Meters time) -ran for about 10 yards per carry and 25 yards per catch in both years at Navarro JC. He's got NFL potential. If they hit with Hall like SMU did with Mcneil then they will contend. Also, adding 2 highly recruited JUCO DEs and a highly recruited JUCO DT. The biggest question at Tulsa will be their Offensive Line.

That ....and keeping their players on the field and out of off-field issues.
