Ponies offer huge offensive lineman

Post by Ikus »

Remember those two last-minute signees from St. Augustine HS in New Orleans? There was a lot of talk that the school had a junior class of stud recruits ... and it looks like we have offered one of them.

Offensive tackle Trai Turner
6-4, 330, 5.58
Reports offers from SMU, Alabama, Kentucky, Michigan, Ole Miss, Mississippi State, Nebraska, Southern Miss, Tennessee and Tulsa.

My initial reaction was that the 40-yard dash time was so slow we should pass on him, but there are some schools on there that know a thing or two about projecting talent. Sign him up.

St. Augutine High getting some play on HBOs new miniseries "Treme". Apparently it is the high school for the area where the show takes place-they talk about St. Augustine High School Band being the best in the Nation. No wonder some of the recruits from the high school apparently have missing transcripts destroyed in Huricane Katrina. Highly recommend Treme.

I highly recommend SMU ... to all of St. Augustine's top recruits.

we could use some St Aug bandsmen on the Hilltop. Not only are they good, but they are known as "The Marching 100"...theyd fit in fine in that regard

Who cares about his 40? He has great size, judging by his other offers he has the ability to move laterally. I would love to see some big boys like this start dominating the line of scrimmage for Mustang Nation. Man this would excite me.
