DT Joseph Theard ?

There is an article on an Mustang pay site about a 2011 OL recruit from New Orleans who says he will visit SMU when high school teammate 2010 SMU recruit DT Joseph Thead does in a few weeks. Did Theard pass his test ?

I dont think we really know much about this guy. That goes for whether he is going to make grades or anything else for that matter.

Ive seen him listed anywhere from 6' to 6'2". My guess is he is closer to 6' or he would have been more recruited. I also read somewhere he had 11 sacks and 22 tackles his senior year.

Sounds like another guy to throw into the rotation(assuming he makes grades).

The story on him on signing day was he had to pass a test to qualify and was going to take it in March. I assume he passed if he is coming to visit SMU in a couple of weeks. Otherwise, he would be going the JC route.

anyone can take an unofficial visit. The only thing you need for an official visit is to have taken not necessarily passed the SAT/ACT.

Please tell me he weighs above 285. I would prefer 300+ and cat quick. The height does not turn me away if he is wide and quick.

He was officially listed at 276 in the recruiting release. I saw him anywhere from 265-275ish.
