Banquet Report

Postby BUS » Sat Apr 24, 2010 9:45 pm

Home early after Football Banquet. WOW you have got to check out the Hawaii Bowl Ring.
SWEET.
Morestead talked and yes, I cried a bit as he spoke about his strength that comes from Frank Gansz and his team.
Quote:"Frank became a Sait the same day I did" Barbara G. was at the head table with JJ.

Happy people celebrating a GREAT year in video productions.
Special Teams awaard to Margus... " Next year I hope to make takles" He really love playing football. And he is funny.
D-Player Kenninmer (SP) - "And I had to sit the bench for how long coach?"
O- Player E. Sanders - Thank you to his coaches and team mates. Then Shawnbrey to S-Diego and McCann to Cows.

Hope to see you all there next year.

You have got to see this ring.
Peace be with you always.

Wasn't a dry eye in the room when, at the end of his speech, Morestead made all the player stand up and said "Barbara, (meaning Barbara Gansz) this is your family."

Unless you were there last night, it's really hard to describe all of the things and people, that made this event a very special night. Another moment, was when June got choked up, talking about Margus Hunt just wanting to thank him, for allowing him to be part of the team.

On a lighter note
Mr. McIlhenny got up and lead the standing crowd in VARSITY.

And " of Course" followed it with BEAT TEXAS.

Maybe in a few years we get them in a bowl game but not just yet.

BEAT TT.

Thanks Bus for the report..I didn't go and am sick about it. It sounds like it was a great emotional tribute to all, including us followers of the Stangs!

Wish I could have been there (sounds like I should have filmed it)... but I was there in spirit. Hope you folks who were there enjoyed the video. I'll post a link to it here after I upload it. I've linked it in the past but now I have a copy of it in full rez.

Ditto! :D
SMU's first president, Robert S. Hyer, selected Harvard Crimson and Yale Blue as SMU's colors to symbolize SMU's high academic standards. We are one of the few Universities to have school colors with real meaning...and we just blow them off.

Still singing that song because I watched the video last night.

I want that played at my funeral. I hope not soon, but moving for a Mustang.
