Since there was no other player form CUSA West drafted, the above is somewhat confusing.
A more accurate statement would be the only CUSA West player drafted. That would infer that CUSA West sucks and might not be a big recruiting plus.
Fendi Onobun from Houston was drafted in the 6th round. Maybe the above was only confusing for you?
No doubt I am not an English major or master.
I took the information about the draft from the NFL website on the CUSA results:
http://www.nfl.com/draft/2010/tracker#d ... ferenceusa
The NFL website does list the 6th round pick as
[+] 1 (170) Rams Onobun, Fendi TE 6'6" 252 Arizona -- --
http://www.nfl.com/draft/2010/tracker#d ... me-input:F
Onobun Fendi listed on the NFL website is, on further research, a basketball forward @ AZ.
How silly of me to rely on the NFL to correctly list players.
Obviously my mistake began by trusting the NFL to provide accurate information about the NFL draft. And unfortunately, I don’t know every player in CUSA as well as others seem to know them. Thanks for clarifying things for one so confused.
Lesson learned; never rely on the NFL to provide correct information on the NFL. Rely only on those that post on fan sites as the ultimate in knowledge, truth and wisdom.

JJ had more than *50* players sign NFL contracts during his 9 years as head coach at Hawaii...and he had to deal with how it was hard for scouts to get to see Hawaii players in person (partially solved by JJ moving Hawaii's Pro Day to LA).
JJ's recruiting classes in Hawaii also were ranked lower than TCU's, so JJ got more players to sign NFL contracts even though his players were rated lower coming out of high school. That says a *little* about how his coaching staff develops players for the NFL and how JJ has a lot of NFL contacts.
So, you still think that is a good point to bring up, FroggieFever?
Crickets.

Not to mention they can play for a superior game day coach by coming here. For evidence, see the Fiesta Bowl debacle this year when TCU was absolutely confused by the less talented but better coached and see the Hawaii Bowl where we confused a more talented Nevada team.

Ok I will play....
Really? Superior gameday coach? Sorry but this rings hollow when you look at the head-to-head record between the two coaches. (Could be true but prove it...I have some scores to back me up. And yes I know JJ is implementing his system, players, etc.)

I agree with ReedFrawg, if you want to sell that angle you better have some head-to-head to back it up. Maybe Chris Ault just sucks at gameday coaching.

Re: If I were speaking to a recruit...
In NFL Draftees- I believe it is:
Patterson 23 (TCU)
June Jones 22 (Hawaii including 2 in Junior Class of his last year and 2 at SMU which he didn't recruit ie Morestead and Sanders)

of course. way too many variables to control...let's revisit this subject in 2011.

True - I hope SMU continues to improve as it does nothing but improve our schedule and make for a much better gameday experience! I'm looking forward my one trip to Dallas this year!

Sept. 24, 2010...will once again provide an opportunity to
see who is the superior game day coach. However, since old
JJ has never even come close to beating the Frogs...the odds
for SMU do not look promising. Regarding Nevada, they played
without their two top (1,000 yard) running backs and their
NCAA pass defense was rated an abominable #119 of #120.
Little wonder that your passing game had some smidgen of
success.

and yet leading up to the game all we heard was "the backs don't matter...it's the o-line...look at what Marshall did..."
and please tell me that your screen name isnt owing to your allegiance to a$m...if so, I think you have bigger things to worry about.

Re: If I were speaking to a recruit...
Don't bother reasoning with Corp. It doesn't matter that the Nevada guys were convinced that Mike Ball would run all over us just as he did against TCU's conference mate UNLV (when he had almost 200 yards on 13 carries). It doesn't matter that the Nevada guys were happy about the fact that they changed defensive coordinators before the bowl game and the new guy knew how to stop the pass. Nothing logical matters, for he is Corp.

Chris Ault can't be too bad. Nevada played Boise about as well as tcu did this past year (11 pt loss vs 7 point loss for tcu)...
